The Chinese Culture Centre was founded on July, 21-st (the twenty-first) 2007 due to the celebration of the China Year in Russia on the basis of the Department of Foreign Language Literature of the Regional Library named after A.S. Pushkin. The main goals of the Centre are: contribution in making friendly neighbouring relationships of intercultural cooperation between Russia and China, effort collection of specialists in Chinese and Chinese Region Scholars in realization of enlightenment and educational programs, studying of mutual influence of spiritual culture of both countries. Well-organized and purposeful work of the Centre will give the opportunity for practically all categories of readers to increase their spiritual, cultural and educational level.
The main kind of informative resources of the Centre is the literature stock in Chinese and Russian about History and Culture of China and other Country Study information as well as teaching methodology issues. The invaluable investment into the fund enlarging has turned out to be the donation of present cultural delegations from Manchuria and Ergun, invited at the Centre opening ceremony: 6427 precious editions in Chinese, Russian and English, including digital sources have been introduced. The acquaintance with the possessed literature of the Fund is traditionally realized with the help of the book-illustrated exhibitions in Country Study, Chinese Teaching Methodology and Literature Study.
In addition to printed editions the Centre possesses the auditory-visual and multimedia courses, providing the realization of Centre educational programs most productively for both Russian and Chinese students. The readers are provided with the Internet, aimed at replenishing the absence of obligatory sources, the proper library informative bases: the Country Study and Topical Card Systems, the Digital Catalogue, where the common library literature in China Study is kept.
The Chinese Culture Centre is organized by specialists of the Chinese Language. All this provides the leading of productive, quality work in realizing varied services: library, bibliography, informative, interpreting and others to all those, who get addressed to the library for knowledge, information and for participation in mass events.
The acquaintance with cultural values (traditional events, customs) of the Chinese people, with its authentic traditions and customs on the topical evenings, conferences, presentations, meetings with extraordinary people and other occasions of the Centre will assist in understanding the specific world of the inhabitants of the Under-Sky, as well as it will contribute to the development of creative connections with the representatives of Culture of the China National Republic (the CNR).
